My thoughts:
This is one of the first movies in a line of movies made exclusively for Amazon Prime that are produced by Blumhouse pictures. This Horror/ thriller film is in the vein of the Jordan Peele’s movie “Get Out” as well as “Antebellum”. Like “Get Out” it a sci fi–ish/ thriller horror film with a black perspective and like “Antebellum” it’s a great concept but suffers a bit due to some story elements and direction.
I was excited to see this one pop up! The story had enough twist to keep you guessing through out most of the movie and even though it borrowed a few big things form other movies it still had it’s own voice and was pretty original idea. One of the standouts in the movie was the daughter played by Amanda Christine and the other highlight for me was the performance by Phylicia Rashad. This movie is interesting, creepy at times and a fun watch! Check it out!
